History
Today, there are only a few witnesses to the establishment of our club. However, in the chronicles it is dated July 1, 1974 as the origin of the equestrian section of the TJ Sokol Velká Polom collective farm. The first stables were near the collective farm. It started with one horse, Dasha. She served the division for many years, and it was with her that the division began to participate in the first races. She worked in draft and gave the section the first foals (Cynthia, Zlatka, Argon), which expanded the numbers of sport horses. As time went on, the division began to grow. More horses and supporters came. The Velká Polom collective farm and the Pustá Polom collective farm merged. After the merger of the teams, the division
operated under the heading JZD Pustá polom. The new JZD management had an understanding for equestrian sport and made it possible to buy more horses. Among them was the grasshopper Fata, which played a significant role in the representation of the section in competitions. In 1977, the division began to regularly participate in competitions held in the No
rth Moravian region. By bringing Korina's horse and her foal Karin, a huge reinforcement
came. Karin has developed from a small foal into a beautiful and successful sport horse. Then there was a big change. After great efforts and countless hours worked, the division mo

Also this year, the tradition of organizing Hubert's rides was created. After the winter, everyone set to work with Obrazek again. After purchasing obstacles from t

ed section in Bohumín, the first races could be held in
Velká Polom.
In the eighties, the division recovered from its initial problems, built a strong material background and its function was fully operational. Events such as balls, parties and equestrian events were a matter of course. The first major successes in the field of race victory appeared, the membership and horse base expanded, and the division even appeared on television screens several times.
In 1982, several years of cooperation with the partnership section in Liptovský Mikuláš began. There were several mutual races. In 1986, our representative managed to place at the regional youth championships and advance to the Czechoslovak youth championships in Hradec Králové, where she finished second in the teams and advanced to the Czechoslovak championships in Bratislava, where they took 20th place out of a total of 45. In 1987 youth championship also in Velká Polom on the newly built pitch, which still serves today. ObrazekIn this decade, an excellent collaboration with Mr. Erich Režnar, who started commuting from Albertovec, also begins, to pass on his knowledge and experience on regular training days. He was later replaced by coach František Honč.
In 1994, a major turning point occurred.
The equestrian section had to decide what to do very quickly. The farm that used the section was returned in restitution and had to be vacated and evacuated. The club therefore
moved in smaller numbers to Mr. Ludvík's stables, who bought the mare Oasa and the foal Orest, and Rivelíno remained the division horse. The new stables already had the draft mare Šárka and the thoroughbred mare Salina.
The picture has started again. It was necessary to build a new facility for the section. Initially, a cloakroom, saddle room, club room were set up and the existing stables were modified. In the following year, 1995, the municipality provided us with land to build a training riding school, and at the same time the tradition of organizing equestrian races was renewed, now twice a year. As private horses were also housed in stables and interest in these services grew, it was necessary to build a new stable (1996). The cavalry squad grew in small steps and a hayloft was built
in 1999 and then a foal was added to the stables. In 2003, a sanitary facility with a cultural room for members and owners of horses was completed. Our equestrian center is growing and improving even today.
Another break of the section was the separation from the physical education unit Velká Polom and from TJ JO Velká Polom in 2005 a civic association Jezdecký klub Velká Polom was established. Currently, the club has about 60 members and there are 26 horses in the stables.
